Canada Day: Violins and hot dogs, boobs.

It was the noon hour before I got downtown to catch some of the festivities. While scanning the crowds for Tyler and his mom, an old fellow visiting from Quebec started a conversation with me. He was waiting for his wife to find him. We had a wonderful talk, about the merits of various hot dog preparation methods and fiddle music and other types of music. He showed me a 50 year old chrome whistle he carried in case he was having any medical problems, so his wife would come to his assistance. Once his wife showed up, it was time for me to continue my search for Tyler. The fellow and I introduced ourselves (his name was Joe), shook hands and I wished him a good visit to our city. It was actually a highlight of my Canada Day.

I have a similar shot to this from years ago, but with three girls wearing coloured wigs. Nearly the exact spot, too.

Queen's University Engineering Dept had their race car on display. This is the only shot I wanted, because I'm quirky like that...

A quick shot because someone pointed him out. I didn't get a shot of his face but I saw him later. Scary.

These girls were doing promo for a new restaurant. A 60-ish fellow drove into the back end of a Fire Dept pickup, that was behind a police cruiser stopped for traffic. I wonder how that happened.

Don't know what this was about.

OK dude, I am convinced...I am moving to Canada. To hell with the better health care thing, and the smaller military budget, and the lack of tea bagging idjits...it's the pickup shot that pushed me over the edge.

Btw, does the other one say Day on it?

JJ, I didn't get close enough to see, dammit. Warning, we (but not I) just voted in a conservative government, headed by a prairie zombie, though he was born in Toronto.

Well crap, that busted my Canadian ideal bubble.
